  1. What is a Library PIN code?

Your Library PIN code is your password for the library's CONSULS system. It can be any combination of letters and/or numbers ranging from 5-12 characters total. The Library PIN is stored in your libary patron record on the CONSULS system.

  2. How do I get a Library PIN?

When you first register at WCSU you do not have a PIN code. To create your PIN visit the Your Library Record page. When you access this page for the first time, you will need to enter your :

    • UNIVERSITY ID NUMBER
    • WHATEVER you want your PIN to be (at least 5 characters; letters, numbers, special characters are fine, but not required)

You will then be required to enter your new PIN twice. You have now created your PIN code.

  3. What are Library PIN codes used for?

The Library PIN is used to access your library record. Your library record shows the books that you have checked out , overdue books and any fines that you may have acquired. After establising your PIN code you can log into your library record from the main CONSULS screen http://www.consuls.org You also need the Library PIN to access many library databases from home.

  4. What to do about an Invalid Library PIN?

If the system will not allow you to enter a new PIN, the most common problem is that you already have a Library PIN and have forgotten it. If you are not able to create a Library PIN, please visit the Circulation Desk at either Haas or Young libraries or call the WCSU Library Circulation Desk: 203-837-9100

  5. What is the difference between a Library PIN and a Banner PIN?

A library PIN is used for the library ONLY and can be anything you want it to be - letters, numbers, characters, etc.

A Banner PIN is the number you use to get access to your University records - for grades, registration, degree audit, personal information, etc. and is also used to access WestConnduit.

For more information on Banner PINs, go to the Banner Self-Service PIN Maintenance page.
