The following loan rules apply to borrowing by all faculty, staff and students.
Loan Period: 28 days
Fine Rate for Books: 10 cents per day
Reserve materials, video recordings, and compact discs circulate for shorter periods of time.
Loan periods and fine rates vary depending on type of material. Please consult the staff at the Circulation Desk if you have questions about borrowing materials.
Returns & Renewals
CSU faculty, staff, and students may return books borrowed from other CSU campuses to their local campus library (exception: reserve materials must be returned to the lending library). Renewal policies vary depending on the library and type of material. Renewal by web or telephone is possible and most items can be renewed once if no one else is waiting to use the material.
Overdue Notices
When materials are kept past the due date, the WCSU circulation system sends a notice to the patron alerting him (or her) of overdue items and fines owed. The notice will be sent to your campus address, your email address, or to the local address which you provided the University, so be sure to notify the University Registrar and the Library of any recent change of address.
Lost/Damaged Books
Individuals who lose a book will be charged a processing fee, plus the current replacement cost of the book, and any applicable fines. Failure to resolve fines will result in collection by a collection agency. Students will not be able to register for classes or get a transcript until unpaid fines are resolved.
Holds & Recalls
You may place a hold on a book that is currently checked out to another person by using the Request Book function in CONSULS or in person at the Circulation Desk. You will be notified as soon as the item is available. You may receive a recall notice if an item checked out to your account is needed for course reserves.
Non-Circulating Materials
Certain types of library materials may not be checked out without special permission (please see librarian at reference desk):
Reference books
Periodicals (including microform)
Government documents
Archival material
Photocopiers are available at a cost of 10 cents per copy if you purchase a Copy Card or 15 cents per page in cash.
