How To Find Books At WCSU Using CONSULS, The Library Catalog

Keyword searching is best when you do not know the book’s Library of Congress Subject Headings, and don’t have a specific title or author’s name.

To search CONSULS using keywords:

Type the keywords you want to use and click “search.” CONSULS will generate a list of all the titles that contain your keywords anywhere in the record.

If you have more than one keyword, you should make use of Boolean Search Operators (AND, NOT, OR) between the individual words. This is especially helpful if you have specific terms you require or would like to exclude. For instance, a search for “Elizabethan AND literature” produces 357 results, but searching for “Elizabethan AND literature AND NOT Shakespeare” reduces the number of results to 250.

After typing your keywords into the search box, you may choose to limit your search to a specific library, or sort your search by date, title, or relevance to your search terms.
