Assessment hinges on clear goals, objectives, learning outcomes, and a solid framework. Once those are all in place, we can choose tools, methods, and procedures to accomplish meaningful assessment of student learning in the general education curriculum.

Including analyses of ethnicity and gender --vadengoadl, Wed, 14 Feb 2007 16:39:43 -0500 reply
I am in the process of completing a "Latino/Hispanic Student Success Self-Study" for our participation in a graduation rate outcomes study that is sponsored by the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, The Education Trust and the National Association of System Heads. In each area of our work, we are asked in this self-study to describe how we are addressing the success and achievement of our Latino/Hispanic students. I want to make sure we incorporate this type of analysis in our assessment and planning. During the upcoming conference on assessment and general education, we might want to seek out others who are investigating this issue to find out what they have discovered so far. Thanks! Linda
