Restricted Access
Normally WCSU provides for unrestricted world wide access via the web to theses. However, you may apply for whole or partial restriction of your thesis.
To apply for a restriction you must use the Application for Restricted Access of Thesis & Confidentiality Form and submit to the Graduate School 6 months prior to submitting your thesis for examination.
Applications for restrictions up to 2 years can be approved by your supervisor; applications for restrictions greater than two years must be approved by the Dean of the Graduate School.
You may apply to restrict access to both the Library bound paper copy and the digital copy, or just the digital copy. In addition, the Library will restrict access to third party copyright material in your thesis for which you have been unable to obtain written permission.
The access options available for theses in the program are:
- No restrictions – world wide access (default).
- Restricted to WCSU campus only; with non campus access available to current staff and students via authentication.
- Restricted for up to 24 months;
- Partial restrictions, i.e. to certain files may be approved.
- Partial restrictions for third party copyright reasons, e.g. diagrams, charts, must be discussed with technical administrator in the Library.
