Background
InfoAnytime is a 24/7 virtual reference project being developed for the state of Connecticut by CLC (Connecticut Library Consortium). It was piloted in 2005 by 5 community college libraries and is now being offered to all libraries for a fee.
Technology
The service is being run by Tutor.com, a company in Westchester County that provides real-time, online tutoring services to schools and public libraries. InfoAnytime uses chat, pushing and co-browsing software to communicate with remote patrons and share web pages. No special downloads are required and there are no operating system requirements.
