Subject: Innovative Image management examples

Ralph,

Below are links to some the WebOPAC?'s of some Innovative customers who are using the Image Management software to display digital objects in their WebOPAC?.

As I explained on the phone, what the user sees in the WebOPAC? is exactly the same, regardless of whether the site used the earlier windows-based image management product or the new web-based Millennium Media Management version, which will be in General Release as a part of Release 2002 Phase 2.

Also, it's not really possible to see E-Reserves information specifically, as you need to know a course or professor to search; and also would need a password to actually access the information.

1) State Library of New South Wales

building an image collection of World War 1 conscription material http://192.231.59.37/search Do a title search under Dixson Images

They are linking to Images integrated with main catalog but hosted on an external server

2) Temple University

they're beta testing the Millennium Media Management module, but there's no way to tell which version of the software was used to associate the images with the bib. records. Note that the display of their thumbnail images seems somewhat distorted on my laptop - I've not seen this before when viewing thumbnails

They have set up several scopes specific to various image collections. Try keyword searches on "philadelphia"

3) American Museum of Natural History

they're beta testing Millennium Media Management

Try an Author search on "Say, Thomas"
