Preserving Our Record Collection
We are currently discussing the viability of digitizing the library's collection of vinyl albums. There are many concerns about doing this, not the least of which is copyright. Rebecca Woodward in Media Services has responded to an initial query and has said they have the technical capability to convert the vinyl to digital.

Work Flow Issues
A list of what we have needs to get generated (put on the web in a database maybe). Items that might be worth "preserving" need to be identified. Who knows what % is worth digitizing. (meaning not availble anywhere else)
Are we going to scan the covers?
Metadata Issues
What are we going to use as a metadata standard?
We should have MARC records to start with but we'll probably have to create a table of contents listing.
