This project began in May 2003 at a meeting with Jane, Mary Kay, Jenny and Veronica. We discussed several possibilities and approaches to online tutorials and determined that a web-based tutorial was the most desirable.
A few guiding priniciples emerged:
- the initial tutorial screen should be attractive (colorful, animated, etc)
- the tutorial should be divided in logical parts that each stand on their own, but that can also lead to one another (i.e. a circular research model as opposed to linear)
- as many interactive elements as are appropriate should be developed
- some quizzing/recording elements should be added, if possible
- the first tutorial will focus on Marketing, with a second to focus on JLA
Next steps:
- Mary Kay and Jane are working on the content of the tutorial, as well as a graphic idea for the front page
- Veronica will continue to look for graphic elements and programming possibilities
Graphic Design --Veronica, 2003/07/25 09:40 EST
A first shot at graphic design for the front page is here. We can continue refining this as we progress.
Update --Veronica, 2003/08/12 08:55 EST
Mary Kay and Jane will turn their attention to the development of the content as soon as possible. Summer activities left little time to work on this project.
