Kickoff Meeting --Veronica, 2003/06/17 11:38 EST
"Kickoff" meeting took place June 17, 2003 with Meg, Brian, Veronica:
Scope:
- Meg envisions the project will be useful to the library, the university community (i.e. PR, Alumni, administration, etc) and the general public (limited)
- We decided that for ease of use and retrieval, we will build a web accessible database that can be searched
- There may, in the future, be items and collections that need to be accessible from within CONSULS and we will choose those on an individual basis and utilize Millennium Media Management module
Action items:
- Brian will work on getting the database and input form up and running:
- scripting to create thumbnails and output various image sizes on the fly
- search form (keyword for public, more sophisticated for internal use)
- Meg will review and edit, if necessary, the data elements needed on the input form:
- including a possible "digital id" or accession number schema
- review similar projects to borrow ideas and organizational data
- Meg will make initial contacts with appropriate people on campus to gain support and input for the project
Timeline and deadlines:
- A "skeletal" database and input form should be completed by Friday, June 20
- Review and editing of the database and form will take place June 23 - June 27
- Possible first meeting of interested parties to take place week of July 1??? (Meg will determine this)
