The Young Library has activated a trial for IBISWorld for the month of September.

IBISWorld provides instant access to over 700 United States industries – everything from Shoes Stores to Gold Ore Mining and all industries in between. Many other reports being added, such as “Global” Industry Reports covering world industry analysis. In addition to the core Industry Report product, the company also publishes over 700 US Industry Risk Rating Reports, over 700 Industry Profiles, over 8000 Publicly Traded US Companies as well as hundreds of Economic & Demographic Profiles.

The Library has arranged for trial access to Classical Scores Library, part of Music Online from Alexander Street Press.

From the About page:

“Classical Scores Library will contain 400,000 pages of classical scores from both in-copyright and public domain editions. The major composers output is represented, as well as many lesser known composers and works.

Content in the database includes in-copyright material from Boosey and Hawkes and selected material from the University Music Editions microfilm series.

The collection includes works spanning time periods from the Renaissance to the 21st century. Coverage of score types is comprehensive, with full scores, study scores, piano and vocal scores, and piano reductions.

The database has been indexed to enable users to search on musically relevant fields, such as composer, work/opus number, key, genre, instrument, time period; as well as score-specific fields, such as score type, duration, editor, arranger, publisher. We hope that this will enable users to search, analyze, and research scores in a simple but powerful manner.

Further releases will include the entire catalog of UME, as well as manuscript material from the Barry S. Brook Center for Music Research, and many new editions from other in-copyright publishers.”

The Libraries now have an online subscription to the Chronicle of Higher Education.

Education Research Complete is now the definitive online resource for education research. This massive file offers the world’s largest and most complete collection of full text education journals. It is a bibliographic and full text database covering scholarly research and information relating to all areas of education. Topics covered include all levels of education from early childhood to higher education, and all educational specialties, such as multilingual education, health education, and testing. Education Research Complete also covers areas of curriculum instruction as well as administration, policy, funding, and related social issues. The database provides indexing and abstracts for more than 1,870 journals, as well as full text for more than 1,060 journals. Through iCONN, Connecticut’s digital library, we can now offer Cinahl with Full Text, the world’s most comprehensive source of full text for nursing & allied health journals, providing full text for more than 600 journals indexed in CINAHL.
