1. Create lists

**from Bruce:**
    ``create lists function. As a
group, do we need to do a list cleanup, purchase the capacity for more
lists, or take some other action in the near future? I am wondering
because I have had a couple of instances now where I have been told
there were no empty lists available, and I am not sure that everyone in
there knows to empty a list, mark it "done", or surrender ownership of a
list when they are done. I have heard variations on a loosely-understood
set of rules for sharing the lists (both between the universities and
within a department), which makes me wonder if it is only a matter of
getting everyone who uses the lists back on the same page re: proper use
    and sharing.``

**from Tim:**
    ``Too often the really
big lists are not being cleared. We also recently had one of our lists
overwritten. I have a fairly good idea who did it but it's all
circumstantial. Thus Ed Harris and I decided not follow it up. My
understanding from our head of tech services, Cindy Schofield is that
the lists created should be promptly downloaded to Excel or whatever
program you are using and then the original search should be deleted.
Maybe the systems librarians should take the lead by writing clear
guidelines and policing compliance for a couple of months to make sure
it becomes second nature to follow the procedure. Say a standard email
that goes to all who leave lists up longer than whatever limit we set.
Of course there should be consultation with our tech services
    divisions.``

SOLUTION (short term): Send out reminder to empty and release all review lists on a regular basis!!!

2. WAM

   - Should we get rid of WAM in favor of something else? EZ-Proxy is a possibility; campuses should look at using Active Directory for authentication? does not solve the library account issue... patrons still need to have PINs; will Innovative look at LDAP servers???

   - adding more stuff to WAM? CCSU, ECSU will be adding SFX and SS stuff

   - when we add resources, we can use 0-255 patron types and let the IP recognition take care of it

   - proxy table is not full!

   - checking off-campus access from work? there is a possibility, but we all take care of it from home

3. Innovative upgrade

For future: timing should be better; communication needs to be better... confirm what is happening in October?

4. Other Innovative products to consider?

   - !WebPACPro

No cost change to the OPAC, but all the add-ons may be costly (RSS, Blackboard integration)

   - Metadata builder?

   - additional scopes

Freeware from Illinois(?) to use instead of this more scopes? Tim K. will send a link

   - contact B. Herzog?

5. Other

   - ContentDM: up and running at CCSU; good, stable system, requires very little tech know-how; Debbie will send link

   - "DSpace":http://library.wcsu.edu/dspace running at WCSU, plan to have psyc journal and oral histories for first collections

   - one release behind in Innovative

   - Communication among systems staff; revive the CONSULS list? Brian will look into setting one up; staff will subscribe and all systems announcements will be posted; first message to list should be about emptying and releasing review lists

   - add Steve Collison to systems list (collisons1@southernct.edu) to the systems people list
