Audio Reserves
I think that we can get much more use of our cd collection if we were to "rip" it and serve it up digitally. I looked at the copyright issuse and it would be legal as long was we restricited it to only our patrons (authenticated use). The music library association has published a statement on this but I 've lost the url (but I'll find it)
Technically I don't think this would be too hard. We could use lame to rip and the quicktime server to serve. Both are free and open source. Hard parts would be to find labor (students) to do the ripping and figure out how you want to authenticat (against the proxy server I guess).
